TRECOM, that stands for Embedded, Reliable and Distributed Systems based on Components, is a spanish project financed by CICYT under grant TIC-2002-04123-C03.

TRECOM is a coordinated project made up of the following groups: Grupo de Sistemas de Tiempo Real de la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Grupo de Computadores y Tiempo Real de la Universidad de Cantabria and Grupo de Informática Industrial de la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia.

One of the main goals of our group is the development of a Linux distribution for embedded systems and a toolkit with a GUI for developing and configuring Linux based embedded systems.

Other main goal is to provide RTLinux-GPL with distributed and networking capabilities. To achieve this, the TRECOM team propose the architecture, built in a layered fashion, shown in the next figure (layers are clickable).

Some of the components implementing the layers are portings of widely know Linux open source projects to RTLinux-GPL. You can visit those projects' home pages by clicking on each layer.
